TSA Security Measures and Procedures
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has the responsibility to check baggage, carry-on bags, passengers, traveling via CVG Airport. To ensure safety, passengers must undergo screening at the checkpoint areas. The TSA security checkpoint works daily and opens from 3:30 A.M. - 8:50 P.M. Passengers are allowed to security checkpoints around 30 minutes for screening. Passengers should remove personal belongings and electronic devices and place each item on a separate bin for the X-ray machine.

Proper Identification / Read ID
Recently, congress has enacted new security rules for state-issued licenses, other forms of I.D.s, 'as part of the REAL ID Act.'; From the beginning of October 1, 2020, under the TSA requirements, passengers aged 18 years and older should present a Real ID-compliant driver's license or/and another acceptable form of I.D. to fly throughout the United States.
Security checkpoints, Check-In and Departure Time at CVG Airport
The airport's main Terminal opened in opened November 2009. The security checkpoint in this Terminal is located on the ticketing level. After clearing security, passengers can take elevators or escalators down to the service of the Cincinnati Airport People Mover. It departs to all gates for the convenience of customers.
The standard recommendation for passengers is to arrive between 90 minutes and 2 hours before their scheduled flights, to avoid any inconvenience. Sometimes airlines have their own recommended time; be aware to check on their official website. Also, it is recommended that those passengers who have to travel internationally should arrive at least 3 hours before the scheduled flights.
